As oil prices continue to rise, the search for greener and more affordable alternatives has become a major issue for some countries. A new energy plant in the us state of Texas USES cow dung as its raw material, which is then processed and converted into usable natural gas and transported to thousands of homes. Animal waste is usually a good organic fertilizer, but it also contains a large amount of greenhouse gas, ruminants such as cows release of methane gas content accounts for one 5 of the world's supply of methane emissions.

The Texas energy plant is using new technology to turn cow dung into a treasure. Every day they come back from local dairy cow muck, after mixing, filtering and so on procedure, and again the used cooking oil and other food scraps, mixed into high temperature accumulation and release of methane gas, and then purified becomes a burning gas, through pipes to the homes of local residents. This series of process takes about 20 days or so, the power plant is trying to achieve an annual production capacity meet the gas consumption of 11000 households, this equates to reduce consumption of crude oil each year more than 1700 litres.
